Can neuropsychological evaluation be completed in one session?
Yes. However, there are circumstances in which testing may require more than one session to complete (e.g., if you prefer to have frequent rest breaks throughout testing, if your referral question requires an extensive test battery to answer).
How long does a neuropsychological evaluation take?
Please allow 4-5 hours for your appointment for a neuropsychological evaluation, which consists of a clinical interview (approximately 60 minutes), rest breaks and testing. For most individuals, a standard test battery may be completed in approximately 3 hours, during which you may take 1-2 rest breaks of 10-15 minutes in duration. Each test battery is customized according to the referral question(s) and the individual's capacity. The duration of the evaluation may vary under certain circumstances (e.g., if you require additional rest breaks to facilitate maximal performance. Also, if you are seeking testing accommodations, your test battery would require more time to complete due to the specific documentation guidelines established by standardized testing boards).
